Tuesday morning, I watered gardens because we’ve been having a drought. As I got closer to the tomatoes, I saw a spherical eyelash kind of seed. I looked behind me. A big, thorn-filled weed, stomped in half, graced the side of my neighbor’s house. I counted 30 delicate seeds and lifted them from the tomato plants.
Last week at our ladies’ Bible study group, I spoke about the relief I felt when I learned that temptation is not a sin. (1 Corinthians 10:13, NKJV) says: “No temptation has overtaken you such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
As I collected the seeds, I thought, as the air pulled and dropped the tiny projectiles, it’s as Satan pulls on our emotions and drops temptations into our minds. A friend recently told me it’s a good idea to put on the full armor of God from (Galatians 6: 10-18), to be protected from Satan’s fiery darts.
I felt as if God said, “sins are like weeds. They’ll choke the life out of you as weeds steal nutrients, and water, and crowd out food and flowers in the garden.”
I saw grass growing between cracks. I felt like God said, “sin brings death.”
We’ll never get away from sin. Read the Apostle Paul’s struggles in Romans 7. But, Jesus Christ , as told in Romans 8 is the answer!
I pray God blesses you and watches over you.
