Do you ever feel like you’re supposed to do something, yet other things get in the way? For the past week, I think I’ve been hearing, “I’m coming back soon, write!”
Jesus Christ told us He’d be coming back soon. Scholars say He is coming for His church, and after that, the only Christians on earth will be those who didn’t repent of sin and then give their lives over to Jesus Christ, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit; One God, Three Persons!
Our ladies’ Bible study has been studying the book of Revelation for a number of months now. We’ve just finished chapter 19. Many biblical scholars feel the church, true believers, born again as Jesus spoke of in the Gospel of John, chapter 3, that these believers are caught up in the air with Jesus, “Raptured.”
After Chapter 3 in Revelation, the church is never spoken of again until heaven is described at the end of the book. Jesus comes again in judgment. Angels are sent to judge the earth in between Jesus’s first and second coming, if I’m understanding it correctly.
The things that happen to the earth and people are heartbreaking. God says He does this so people will look to Him, repent and avoid eternal damnation. Difficult stuff.
He sends angels to fly over the world before it’s too late, proclaiming the Gospel; He sends two scary prophets that the antichrist kills and people party over their death. God brings them back to life and lifts them to heaven.
Revelation 21 and Revelation 22 describe The New Heaven and The New Earth and The New Jerusalem. Chapter 22 proclaims the River of Life and Jesus is Coming soon!
Revelation says a person will be blessed if they read the book of Revelation. It’s difficult to understand, but well worth the time and the prayers asking God to help figure it out. What is symbolic, what will prove to be a physical reality?
It ends saying, “Jesus is coming soon!”
(Rev 22:6, NKJV) Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
(Rev 22:7, NKJV) “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
